Can you believe it? I am still very much on my fitness journey and still keeping up with my fitness diary. If you follow me on instagram (and you should!), you see that I post the workouts that I do with my trainer and also any fun things I do to be heart healthy on my stories. It takes a village to get healthy and I am thankful for mine.
First it was on cinco de mayo. Second, the music was BANGING. It was hard not to dance on the bike but our instructor and owner of Cycled, Shayla kept us focused with different moves on the bike to the tune of the music. Third, it was a beautiful day and it was on a rooftop. Fourth- black girl magic in every essence.
Jermaine joined me and we both chose bikes in the back because well “still getting in shape and don’t wanna draw attention to it” hahaha. We thought by being in the back we would be ignored but nope, Shayla, walked around and checked on everyone’s form and also helped motivate us. Her high energy was inspiring and not off putting. You could really get the sense that she just wanted all of us to do the absolute best that we could!
The thing with spinning or indoor cycling is that no matter your athletic training or experience, you will always sweat. The fact that you can change the resistance and raise up from the bike to really work your legs, you will never, ever feel like you aren’t working hard.
After 40 intense but super fun minutes on the bikes, we stopped pedaling and did some stretching and breathing and then the Cinco de Mayo festivities happened.
All in all my experience at Cycled was super positive and I will absolutely be back. Actually, on 5/23, Shayla has a Beyonce vs J. Cole ride that I am dying to go to and just may do that. Who wants to try it out with me?
